What every number covers
Florida requires property damage liability of at least $10,000. Most drivers face no bodily injury minimum, so the injuries you cause can be claimed straight from you.
These limits often don't cover the full cost of medical bills or a newer car. Any amount above these limits can be claimed from you, which is why many drivers buy 100/300/100 instead. The average cost of a liability policy in Florida is $1,391 each year.
Driving without insurance
You may lose your license and registration if you drive uninsured in Florida. You may have to submit proof of insurance for several years to restore them.
Contact the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV), Bureau of Financial Responsibility with any questions.
