Coverage provided by each limit
Liability coverage of at least 30/60/25 is what Texas requires. Each person hurt is covered for $30,000, everyone hurt in one crash for $60,000, and damage to other people's property for $25,000.
Often the bills for medical care and the cost of a newer car go past these limits. Claims above the limits can be made against you. That's why many drivers buy 100/300/100 instead. The average annual cost of a liability policy in Texas is $893.
Driving without insurance
If you drive uninsured in Texas, you may lose your license and registration. To recover them, you may have to submit proof of insurance for several years.
