What the numbers cover
Georgia drivers need 25/50/25 liability coverage at the very least. One injured person is covered for $25,000 and everyone hurt in the same crash is covered for $50,000. Damage to other people's property is covered for $25,000.
These limits often don't cover the full cost of medical bills or a newer car. You can be asked to pay any amount above those limits, which is why many drivers buy 100/300/100 instead. The average liability policy in Georgia costs $1,187 each year.
Driving without insurance
Driving without insurance in Georgia may cost you your license and registration. Getting them back may require filing proof of insurance for several years.
