The amounts and what they cover
The minimum liability in Maryland is 30/60/15. Each person hurt is covered for $30,000, everyone hurt in one crash for $60,000, and damage to other people's property for $15,000.
These limits often fall short of what medical bills and a newer car cost. Any amount beyond those limits can be claimed from you. That's why many drivers buy 100/300/100. In Maryland, the average cost of a liability policy is $944 a year.
Driving with no coverage
Your license and registration can be at stake if you drive uninsured in Maryland. To get them back, filing proof of insurance for several years is something you may have to do.
