Coverage provided by each amount
Rhode Island liability coverage must be at least 25/50/25. It pays $25,000 per injured person and $50,000 for all injured people in one crash. Another $25,000 covers damage to other people's property.
A newer car and medical bills often cost more than these limits. You can face claims for any amount beyond those limits, so many drivers purchase 100/300/100 instead. In Rhode Island, liability policies cost an average of $1,041 each year.
If you’re driving without insurance
If you drive uninsured in Rhode Island, you can lose your license and registration. You may have to submit proof of insurance for several years to get them back.
