What the limits cover
For Indiana drivers, liability coverage must reach at least 25/50/25. The minimum pays $25,000 for each person hurt and $50,000 for multiple people hurt in one crash, with $25,000 available for damage to other people's property.
These limits often fall short of the cost of medical bills and a newer car. Amounts above those limits can be claimed from you, which is why many drivers buy 100/300/100 instead. The average annual cost for a liability policy in Indiana is $523.
Driving while uninsured
If you drive uninsured in Indiana, you may lose your license and registration. To recover them, you may have to submit proof of insurance for several years.
