Coverage provided by each number
Utah requires liability coverage of at least 30/65/25. The limits provide $30,000 per person hurt. Everyone hurt in one crash receives $65,000 in coverage, while $25,000 covers damage to other people's property.
A newer car and medical bills often cost more than these limits. Many drivers buy 100/300/100 instead because claims for costs beyond those limits can be made against you. The average liability policy in Utah costs $812 a year.
Driving with no coverage
In Utah, you could lose your license and registration if you drive uninsured. For several years, you may need to file proof of insurance to recover them.
