What you still pay with the minimum
In Utah, the minimum required liability is 30/65/25: $30,000 for each injured person, $65,000 for everyone injured in a single crash, and $25,000 covering damage to other people's property.
Your liability coverage is what pays the other people. Unless you add collision coverage, you pay for repairs to your own car.
Any amount above your limits may be claimed against you after a crash. The extra cost of higher limits is usually far smaller than the jump in protection you get.
