What every amount covers
Ohio drivers must have at least 25/50/25 liability coverage. Each person hurt is covered for $25,000, everyone hurt in a single crash for $50,000, and damage to other people's property for $25,000.
These limits often fall short of medical bills or the cost of a newer car. You can be made to pay anything above those limits, so many drivers choose 100/300/100 instead. In Ohio, a liability policy costs $518 a year on average.
Driving with no insurance
Drive uninsured in Ohio and you risk losing your license and registration. Getting them back may mean filing proof of insurance for several years.
