What the numbers pay for
The liability minimum in Oregon is 25/50/20. An injured person is covered up to $25,000, everyone hurt in one crash up to $50,000, and damage to property owned by other people up to $20,000.
The cost of medical bills and a newer car often goes above these limits. Anything above these limits may be claimed from you, which is why many drivers pick 100/300/100 instead. A liability policy in Oregon costs $804 a year on average.
If you drive with no insurance
In Oregon, driving uninsured can cost you your license and registration. Restoring them may mean filing proof of insurance, for several years.
The Oregon Department of Transportation, Driver and Motor Vehicle Services (DMV) is where questions go.
