How it affects your price
The filing costs little, but the offense behind it raises your premium.
The state rate guides we rely on show one at-fault accident raising the price about 1.5 times.
That works out to about $1,206 a year on the Oregon liability average of $804.
Getting one
- Ask your insurer to submit the form to the state, though not every company will do so.
- Don't own a car? A non-owner policy can include the filing.
- Keep the policy paid up. If the policy lapses, the state is told and the clock can start over.
