What you still pay with the minimum

In Oregon, the minimum liability is 25/50/20 and you must carry at least that much. Coverage includes $25,000 per injured person, $50,000 for everyone hurt in a single crash and $20,000 for damage to someone else's property.

With liability insurance, the other people get paid. Unless you add collision, you pay for repairs to your own car.

Any crash cost above your limits may be claimed from you. Higher limits usually come at a cost far below the jump in protection.
