What the numbers cover
At least 25/50/25 liability is what Mississippi requires. Per person hurt, the limit is $25,000; for all hurt in one crash, $50,000; and for damage to other people's property, $25,000.
A newer car and medical bills often cost more than these limits cover. Drivers can be charged for anything above those limits, so many purchase 100/300/100 coverage instead. The average liability policy in Mississippi costs $679 a year.
Driving with no insurance
You can lose your license and registration when you drive uninsured in Mississippi. Restoring them may require filing proof of insurance over several years.
