What you still pay when you carry only the minimum
In Nevada you must carry at least 25/50/20 liability. Each person hurt in a crash is covered for $25,000. Everyone hurt in one crash is covered for $50,000, and damage to other people's property for $20,000.
Liability coverage pays the other people. Unless you add collision, you pay for repairs to your own car
Any amount left over after a crash, once your limits are used up, can be claimed from you. Raising your limits usually costs far less than the extra protection it buys.
